Emma Watson once said, “I want to be a Renaissance woman. I want to paint, and I want to write, and I want to act, and I want to just do everything,” (McAlpine). Watson, a 26 year old British actress, is most renowned for her role of Hermione Granger, the intelligent best friend to Harry Potter, on the eight part Harry Potter film series (Boon). In addition to her exceptional acting skills, she is also a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador who promotes gender equality around the world. She is so passionate about making a change for women’s rights that she started her own campaign, HeForShe, in order to include not only women, but men in the feminist movement. Being as this is just a few of the many things she has accomplished, it is clear Watson retains the qualities of an admirable person. I believe that Emma Watson is a woman full of ambition, confidence, and courage First, it is evident that Watson displays ambition through her hard work in her educational achievements as an actress. Early in Watson’s life, at the age of nine, with no prior acting experience and competing against experienced performers, she landed the role of Hermione Granger on the Harry Potter film series after eight auditions (“Emma”). Throughout the next ten years and eight films later, Watson was able to achieve eights A’s on her report cards despite the fact that most of her education occurred between takes (Boon).
