Critical thinking is not being argumentative or being critical of others. Critical thinking skills can be used in exposing fallacies and reasoning. Critical thinking also plays a very important part in cooperative reasoning and constructive tasks. Critical thinking can help us to acquire knowledge, improve our theories, and strengthen arguments. Critical thinking can be used to enhance work processes and to improve social institutions.
Some might see good critical thinking as the foundation of science and a liberal democratic society. Science wants the critical use of reason in experimentation and theory confirmation. A liberal democracy wants citizens who can think critically about social issues to inform their judgments about proper governance and to overcome biases and prejudice. The Importance of Critical Thinking
Critical thinking is a domain-general thinking skill. It gives us the ability to be able to think clearly and rationally which is very important in whatever we choose to do. Critical thinking is very important if you work in education, research, finance, management or the legal profession. Critical thinking skills are not limited to certain subject area. Being able to think well and solve problems is a plus for any career.
