Personal responsibility is a life skill that gives you the ability to be accountable for your actions on how to live your daily life. A few traits of personal responsibility include time management, organizational skills, motivation and dedication. Personal Responsibility is an essential characteristic that can make any individual successful in life. We are forced to deal with responsibility on a daily basis. But how we decide to respond to it is a key trait in helping us balance it, no matter what the tribulation is (whether at home, work or school).

I have to be responsible for my actions to be successful in life as well as in college. I strongly feel that there isn’t a task I cannot handle or complete. My training, experience, and perseverance acquired from my Military background have been the benefactor of this self-belief. I want to be successful. I also want, more than anything, to show my family that anything is possible with a little hard work and a good plan.
Time management is a very important quality that a person should have. Effective time management is a trait many people have not yet mastered in their personal or professional life. To a college student, this trait can make the difference between a below average performance or an excellent performance. Setting goals and being in control of it is one method to manage time effectively. “There are only so many hours in each day, and many students work full time and/or have families, so they must set priorities and allocate sufficient time to devote to schoolwork” (Rzadkiewicz, 2009). Be organized! If not your old habits’ from high school or past experiences will dictate your time and affect your success.
Organizational skills are our second important resource. Organizational skills are an important trait many people have not mastered in their personal or professional life. Yet to a college student, it can make the difference between getting accepted to college
