Essay about Graduation Speech At The Summer Youth Employment Program

I began working at the age of fourteen at the summer youth employment program. From the age for fourteen to my present age, I worked every summer. I attended Manhattan Center for Science and Mathematics high school. My high school experience was exciting, stressful and adventurous. Freshmen and sophomore year was adventurous because I developed new friendships, went places in the city, joined hip-hop dance and break dancing club. Junior year and the beginning of senior were stressful because it was the most important year in high school. Colleges looked at my junior and senior grades; therefore, I had to worked extra hard to maintained grade A point average student. The beginning of senior year was spent applying to colleges. I completed my entire college application on my own. I was informed that every college I applied to I was accepted. The rest of senior year was exciting due to the senior activities, trips and parties. I had a group of friends that I formed close relationship with. Presently, I stayed in contact with these friends and remained best friends with my best friend from sophomore year. I received my learner’s permit and license while in high school. Having a license gave me a new responsibility when my mother allowed me to borrow her car. This was the first time I felt like a young adult.
