My English Class
As the term comes to an end, I look back on my accomplishments in my English class. ENG101A was the toughest and most challenging class that I have ever taken, but I really feel that it has helped me to improve as a writer. I never expected that I would take another English class in my life, let alone going back to college. When I thought of English as a subject, I associated it with reading books or poems about subjects I never cared about or had a desire to write about anything beside the corporate emails. Although, I always liked creative writing, in my earlier education and work I rarely got a chance to express my creative mind. I feel that has changed for me in this class. Perhaps it’s been so long since I’ve had a creative outlet to channel thoughts and create something from nothing. I feel that this class has provided me with a boat and compass to navigate the oceans of my college career and develop the skills necessary for me to excel in writing.
I thought my writing before this class was reasonable to my designation and work. I had attended college and worked in the past. It is common practice in corporate world to be very direct in email correspondence and explaining details using technical terms. During this semester, I have found my voice in writing and allowed it to speak clearly on the subjects that we have been instructed.
