Food Intake -3 Days Paper

During my 3 day food recording program I learned numerous things about health and the food I put into my body. Below I will be listing the breakdowns of foods. Along with numerous other facts and information regarding my food study.
The Foods in my 3 day food record that provided proteins are the following, Steak Salad, Fruit Salad, Subway Sandwich (Turkey), Bagel with cream cheese, Granola Bites, Protein Shake, Kellogg’s Raisin Bran, Panera Brea with Asiago roast Beef, Chicken breast(boneless), green beans boiled, baked potatoes, carrots, grapefruit, plain yogurt, cottage cheese with fruit. Macronutrient intake range is important because this ensures your receiving a well-balanced diet. Without proper nutrient components your body won’t develop properly. Your body will fail to function properly and your health will diminish.
According to University of Illinois “Carbohydrates are needed for the central nervous system, the kidneys, the brain, the muscles (including the heart) to function properly.” If you fail to consume the proper amount of carbohydrates your body will fail to run correctly. “Without enough protein in the diet, the body will have no choice but to break down muscle fibers to release the protein it needs to survive.” (Pencharz PB and Young VR). According to a study from the livestrong website. “Without enough of these fats (or lipid) sources in your diet, you may not get enough essential fatty acids, which could cause problems with your hair, skin, immune system and vision.”
My dietary fiber total in grams was 61 grams. I only had 1 gram of soluble fiber, and 4 grams of insoluble fiber. According to WebMD an average man should intake 38 grams of fiber per day. This would equal to 114 grams in 3 days. Considering how I only in took 61 grams I would say I’m well behind
