Social Networking and Privacy
Technology in the 21st century has forever changed the way in which people communicate and interact with each other. Many websites such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube allow us to capture and share all the great things such as experiences and memorable moments with friends. We can easily broadcast these great moments out to the rest of the world. However, along with the opportunities of sharing our information becoming ubiquitous, more and more people are getting concerned around the topic of privacy. Some social networking users complain that sharing their interaction causes the risk of personal information leak. Others argue that users should agree with the openness of social networking before they use the sites. Ironically, while people are arguing over the problem of privacy, they rarely consider the responsibility of individual in a social networking environment. In fact, with the development of networking technology, personal privacy leaks are no longer caused by serious technical problems; in contrast, most serious cases are caused by users ' improper operation. Hence, users should not blame social networking sites for their own mistakes; instead, it is users ' responsibility to learn how to keep their privacy private. First of all, we should be clear that users take the initiative to share their activity to the public; hence, users should be responsible to their sharing.
