According to a study by the Pew Research Center, 92% of teenagers go into his or her social network sites on a daily basis (Lenhart 1). Facebook and other social networks are not only used by teens. Social Networks like Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, and Instagram are being used more and more each day that goes by. Social Networks have become to play a major role in present day society. Almost everywhere a person goes there is a possibility that they will find at least one person checking social media. Smart phones have made it easier for individuals to access social networks and that is probably why these networks have been used a little more constant. According to another study conducted by the Pew Research Center, 71% of teens report to use more than one social network site (Lenhart 1). The reason for this is that there is a vast majority of social networks that have been generated; therefore, more than half of the teens use more than one social network. Social networks are a wonderful tool; however, they do have some downsides. Studies have demonstrated that Social Media causes more harm than good, for it lowers interpersonal skills, causes distraction, and leads to Cyberbullying.
