Well like we all know Psychology has been around since ages ago. With that said psychologist back then had a bunch of theories about how to diagnose or test a person to see how they really are. They didn’t have the technology we have today, therefore most psychologist, even in our day, thought that the way it was before was absurd. Some of the main personality theories tests they used were Projective Test, Thematic Apperception Test, Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI), and California Psychological Inventory.The Projective Tests was the number one most widely used test that encourages testers to respond freely, therefore there 's no right or wrong answer. The main example for this test was the inkblot test. They would get a sheet of paper fold it in half, hamburger style, pour a little ink, or paint and then fold it in half. Once that 's done they would open it up and let the ink/paint dry, and once it 's done it created a mirror image so they would ask the people to tell them what they see in the inkblot . According to them, they are actually telling you about themselves and the way they project meaning on to the real world. It 's quite simple but fascinating. I actually tried this in class, and it was interesting what people saw. Another type of projective testing was the Thematic Apperception test (TAT). They would show a person a set of cards that portray human figures in a variety of settings and situations. Then they are asked to tell what the event…
