This past semester has really opened my mind to what Psychology actually is and how much we could learn about ourselves through it. I believe I have learned a lot this past semester and my favorite thing that I have learned is how to manage my stress. This paper will be a recap of some of the most important information I have gathered over this past semester in psychology. If you have forgotten what psychology is, it is the scientific study of human behavior and mental processes. Or in my own words, it is the study of who we are and why we are the person that we are today. Within this reflection paper, there is a section that discusses the different levels of needs that people need to accomplish or reach to achieve self-actualization. Which is the highest achievement you can receive according to Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. This class also opens your eyes, and gives you the ability to read other people around you. Their actions show their feelings, and what might be on their mind. Through psychology, people are able to see how others respond to different situations and how they might cope with tragic events. With this knowledge, you may be able to help others cope with stress or other situations that will arise in other peoples lives. The first topic that will be discussed is stress.
