Essay about The Rights Of The Collective Power Of Worker 's Rights
Effects of Right to Work on Wages
Rinz carried out a research on “The Effects of “Right to Work” Laws on Wages” basing his argument on Taft-Hartle Act of 1947 and found that the right to work laws had little if any effect on thewages (Rinz 7). According to Rinz, wages in countries which adopted right to work laws even declined after introduction of the laws. In addition, unionized sectors were more likely to experience the negative effects on wages as a result of the adoption of right to work laws. Employees in the private sector of nations that had adopted the right to work policies were also found to be earning 9.8% less in comparison with their colleagues in states that hadn’t adopted the laws (Shah & Casselman 1). In the mean time, factory workers in nations that had adopted the laws were found to be earning 7.4% less than their colleagues within nations which hadn’t adopted the laws.
