Abortion is one of the most controversial issues in the United States. I feel that the pro-life side of this argument needs to be addressed and further explained. There are some babies that die by chance , but they should never die because of someone's else choice. All of us alive today could have been an aborted baby and never been given the chance to live life. But luckily for us, our mothers chose life. The definition of abortion according to the Merriam Webster Dictionary is the deliberate termination of human pregnancy. Abortion has been used for centuries to terminate unwanted pregnancies. The abortion rate to that statistic is 14.6 abortions per 1,000 women from the ages of 15-44 years of age. The majority of these abortions were from women in their twenties. A reported 91.9% of these abortions were performed in the early gestation phase which is as far as 13 weeks. In an article published by the Guttmacher Institute, three-fourths of women that have abortions is because they cant afford the child. Three-fourths of the women have fear that having a baby would interfere with school or work. The other half of women say that they do not want to raise a child in a single parent household or have problems with their significant others. What women don't understand is that unborn babies are human beings from the moment of conception. The best explanation I found of this was in an interview with Kathy Ireland on Fox News. She said; "From the moment of conception a new life comes into being, the DNA, the genetic blueprint is there, the sex is determined, the blood type is determined, the unique set of fingerprints is there. According to the law of biogenesis, all life comes from preexisting life, and each species reproduces after its own kind, therefore human beings can only reproduce other human beings. If the unborn baby is not a human being, have as many abortions as you want, whenever you want and no justification is necessary.
