Apple Computers
There are many things you could think of when you hear the word apple. For example, “an apple a day keeps the doctor away” or “the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.” Yet if you said apple to most Americans they would think of the infamous APPLE Computers. The reason this is so, is because APPLE Computers has changed history, present and the future in America. There are three main reasons for the company becoming so remarkable. First is Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniack, second is the early days of APPLE Computers and third is modern day APPLE and its great effect on America. APPLE Computers has captured the wallets of Americans, the minds of business men and the hearts of kids young and old.

About five years ago, Steve Jobs was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Not only did this take a toll on Jobs but also the company. (“The Curious Case of Steve Jobs”) When Steve Jobs was diagnosed, first he tried to cover it up saying things like his extreme weight loss was due to a hormonal imbalance. Jobs knew his sickness would have an effect on the company so he tried covering it up but eventually opened up about it. As stated previously, Jobs’ sickness took a toll not just on him but also on his company. (Deutschman, 240) With each health report Apple’s stock would rise and fall. There was a consistent battle to keep Apple’s stock up and as well as Jobs’ health.

Apple Computers did not just magically come to be, the company and its employees went through many hardships and struggles before it became the powerful, influential company it is today. Apple was founded in 1976. (Carlton 1) It all started in the 70’s when the Apple Company was founded. Apple had great hope in the 1980’s. Apple “was the promise land” said Peter Barret. (Carlton 7) It seemed like smooth sailing was in store for them. Apple seemed like a promise land in the 80’s as Peter Barret said.
