Christ as A Master in Discussion of the Dao

As intelligent beings, we spend much of our adult lives wondering if the life we lead is truly how we should live. The Dao De Jing teaches that we should live a life in which we have reduced our ego to the point of minimizing if not, eliminating its role in our actions and thoughts. By maintaining the smallest ego possible, we are more able to respond to situations with our true hearts, not with the interest of ourselves in mind. By reacting to events and happenings in our life through natural tendencies, we respond through our true self instead of our ego making decisions that maintain our personal interests, or at least keep our personal interests in mind. Over-complication of our lives is easily one of the biggest mistakes we make. The more widespread number of things that we have on our minds, the more our thoughts are clouded by irrelevant things that cause us to react in a way that is not true to our selves. We must strive to live a simple life that demands us to consider the matter at hand and what is within our selves, not the things and thoughts that surround us and distract us. Effective actions and words are not those which are readily seen and recognized, but rather are those that quietly influence the thoughts of another person or people to alter the outcome. Forceful words and actions often fabricate feelings of rebellion and fear, which garners a backfire of events, contrary to what is wanted or needed. If words are effectively used, the situation changes as the result of a change of heart and therefore those involved are in favor of the change. When one learns to speak with compassion for others, and carefully placed words, they can bring true peace to a situation. A Master of the Dao is one who is truly in touch the experience of the Dao and how to live in the Way. Though not directly a follower of the Dao, Jesus Christ is a good example of a master who lived in a way that was simple and egoless. Jesus, a mortal in his life on earth followed a power much
